McDonald’s McRib is back — and now, you can buy the sauce in jugs

Much like the , a seasonal favorite has returned for the holidays. On Nov. 20, McDonald’s that the McRib will be returning to participating restaurants starting Dec.

In addition to the return of the polarizing , the Golden Arches is dropping A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce, a half-gallon jug of tangy sandwich sauce that folks can use on whatever they wish. As a reminder, the McRib features seasoned boneless pork dipped in McRib sauce topped with slivered onions and sliced pickles on a toasted bun.



Speaking of slivered onions, the company recently announced it would be to get customers to return to its restaurants after an used on its Quarter Pounders sickened at least 104 people last month. (The roughly 900 locations that had been getting those onions from the source implicated in the outbreak are now receiving the ingredients from a different supplier, according to a .) Those curious about the term “boneless pork” will likely not be relieved that the McRib is made out of “restructured boneless pork patty,” , which is a bewilderingly mechanical way of saying it’s made of ground pork molded into its distinctive pork rib-esque shape.

The McRib will be available to order in the McDonald’s app, in-restaurant and at the drive-thru, and customers can buy A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce for $19.99 online only at starting Nov. 25 at 10 a.

Since it’s ditched that ruse, the chain is really leaning into this whole “McRib SZN” bit, now teasing a holiday jingle called “ ,” which will soon be available to play in full on all streaming platforms.
