New York Rangers center Matt Rempe is someone who has caught a lot of heat as of late as someone who doesn't deserve to actually be in the National Hockey League. After a few games in which he didn't even get to play, the New York Rangers decided that it would be best to send Rempe down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. However, according to reports, his very first game with the team did not go very well.

I don't plan to do daily updates on him but it should reinforce that he still has a lot to prove at the AHL level.' Despite this horrific performance, Rempe has already been called right back up to the New York Rangers. Quite frankly, this is getting a bit ridiculous.

It seems like the Rangers do not value Rempe from a hockey perspective at all. Instead, they just want him out there so that he can engage in fights and get the fans riled up. Only time will tell whether or not he actually remains with the team this time around.

There is no doubt that his performances with the team have left a whole lot to be desired. At this stage, it just feels weird that the guy continues to get opportunities. This article first appeared on Hockey Unplugged and was syndicated with permission.
