Aussie TV personality Matt Doran has unveiled a new grizzly bearded aesthetic after moving to the US with his wife Kendall Bora. The former Channel Seven Weekend Sunrise host, 42, relocated to Los Angeles to accompany Bora in her new role as Nine’s bureau chief — and he appears to have left his clean-cut look back home as he begins the new chapter. Sharing a video to Instagram, the couple — who married in 2021 — employed their on-screen skills as they reviewed a couple of American fast-food snacks not typically found in Australia.

But many of Doran’s followers couldn’t help but notice that he’d sprouted new facial growth after years of presenting clean shaven for morning television. “Where has the handsome Matt gone?” one person asked. “Miss u Matt here on TV.

.. And loving the beard,” another said.

The pair taste-tested a decadent toasted cheese and biscuit combo from fast food restaurant Calabama, with the popular host initially sceptical of the “biscuit” and its function before immediately regretting his comments after taking a bite. “Everything I just said about biscuits, forget it, I’m an idiot,” he said. “Urgently get to Calabama and get a biscuit.

” The couple’s Italian greyhound Murphy accompanied them to the States and could be seen watching on in the clip as if expecting leftovers. Fans of the couple joked they would be returning to Australia a little heavier than when they left due to the plethora of dining options in the fast-food capital of the world. Doran announced in November that he would be leaving Channel Seven to focus on family and pursue other opportunities.

Daily Mail reported that he intended to make documentaries while in the US. “Before we go today, a bit of breaking news from the Doran household,” he told viewers at the time. “I want to share with you a decision I’ve made, with my beautiful wife Kendall — and of course in earnest consultation with our beloved Italian greyhound Murphy — and that is, after five years at Weekend Sunrise, I will be finishing up at the end of the year.

“It’s something I’ve agonised over because it’s honest to say this is one of the best jobs on earth, but we think it’s right — and at the right time — for our little family.”.
