Matt Baker has shared a rare glimpse into his family life, revealing a "stressful" period they're currently navigating. The Countryfile presenter, a devoted father to Luke and Molly with his wife and childhood sweetheart Nicola Mooney, opened up about the challenges they're facing. During an appearance on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, Matt discussed his new show, Our Dream Farm, but also touched on his personal life.
He confessed: "We're going through GCSEs and A-levels at the moment in our house, a double whammy." Matt's daughter is currently tackling her GCSEs, and he's taking on a supportive role. "It's quite good to remember that time in your life when you were sitting them.
She's using kind of a flash cards system so I'm the quiz master." he reflected. "She's using a flashcards system, so I'm the quiz master.
", reports the Mirror. When asked by Simon Rimmer if he's adopting a strict or laid-back approach, Matt replied: "I'm trying to remain as chill as possible because there's still a bit of time to go. It's on the horizon, and it's getting closer.
" He added: "It's quite fun, I'm trying to keep it fun." Host Tim Lovejoy chimed in, recalling how his own daughters were "really stressed" during their exams. Matt responded: "It is a stressful time, it's the biggest time for them in that part of their life.
But I'm sure they'll do alright. Whatever they do they work hard." Matt and his wife Nicola first crossed paths during their teenage years.
In a heartfelt 2011 interview with The Express, the TV host shared his appreciation for having met Nicola before becoming a public figure. "I'm so lucky that I met my wife Nicola before any of this telly lark started. I knew way back then she was the one and I don't think I could have done all this without her," he revealed.
The couple exchanged vows in Winston in Teesdale in 2004 and are proud parents to two children, Luke, and Molly..
