The popular TV personality is a devoted father to Luke and Molly, his children with wife and childhood sweetheart Nicola Mooney. According to the Countryfile host, the Baker household is experiencing a challenging time.

On Sunday, April 6, Matt appeared on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, to discuss his new show, Our Dream Farm. The program features seven contestants competing for a ten-year tenancy on a 340-acre National Trust farm. During the episode, Matt shared a rare insight into his home life, revealing that his household is currently navigating the pressures of GCSEs and A-levels.

He mentioned that his daughter is studying for her GCSEs, using a flashcard system, and that he's taken on the role of quiz master. When asked by Simon Rimmer if he's adopting a strict approach or remaining laid-back, Matt replied: "I'm trying to remain as chill as possible because there's still a bit of time to go. It's on the horizon, and it's getting closer.

", reports the Mirror . He added that he's attempting to keep the atmosphere light and enjoyable, stating: "It's quite fun, I'm trying to keep it fun." Tim Lovejoy chimed in, recalling how his own daughters had been "really stressed" during their exams.

Matt responded: "It is a stressful time, it's the biggest time for them in that part of their life. But I'm sure they'll do alright. Whatever they do they work hard.

" Matt and his wife Nicola have been together since their teenage years. Reflecting on their relationship during a 2011 interview with The Express, the TV host expressed his deep appreciation for having met Nicola before becoming a public figure. "I'm so lucky that I met my wife Nicola before any of this telly lark started.

I knew way back then she was the one and I don't think I could have done all this without her," he admitted. The couple exchanged vows in Winston in Teesdale in 2004 and are proud parents to two children, Luke, aged 17, and Molly, aged 15. In 2021, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Matt and his family decided to leave their Chilterns home for life in the Durham countryside.

The Baker family moved north to help Matt's father manage the farm following an incident where his mother Janice was injured after being trampled by sheep..
