Matt Baker says fellow TV presenter an 'inspiration' after huge milestone

Famous British gardener and TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh, known for this work on Gardeners' World, was showered with congratulations as he was honoured with a CBE by King Charles . One of many who showed admiration to Alan was Countryfile presenter, Matt Baker who shared a heartfelt message. On Tuesday, March 1 the gardener was honoured with the CBE at Windsor Castle.

The investiture ceremony at the castle was the King's first public engagement since experiencing side effects from cancer treatment and a brief hospital stay last week. During the ceremony, the King recognised Alan's contributions to horticulture and charity with a CBE. The gardener has had a lengthy and illustrious career in horticulture and broadcasting, spanning five decades after transitioning into gardening journalism in 1974.

" Alongside the post was an image of the presenter beaming with a smile, as he posed with his award outside of the castle. A second image shows Alan holding back tears as he was presented with the award by King Charles. Fans flooded the comments of the post with congratulatory messages.

and looking very dapper in the morning coat." Another added: "So pleased for you, so well deserved. Huge congratulations @alantitchmarshcbe and THANK YOU for all your years of support and friendship and for always flying the flag for flowers, plants, florists and gardeners.

" Although, one comment stood out above the rest. Fellow countryman and presenter Matt Baker commented: " Congratulations Alan - you’ve always been an inspiration to me." Although known for his time on Blue Peter, Matt is now known for his work on Countryfile as well as his new series Channel 4 series, Our Dream Farm.

The 47-year-old presenter has translated his knowledge and farming experience into aiding others to pursue their agricultural ambitions on the new show. The show sees seven shortlisted candidates followed in a documentary style as they are put under the watchful eye of the National Trust to complete real-life farming tasks in the hope of becoming the new tenants of a unique hill farm in Eryri (Snowdonia)..
