Urged on by their large travelling contingent of supporters, 'Town' duly equalised with a catch and drive dotted down by Ben Priddey.

Camborne’s long spell at the top of National Two West came to an end as Clifton moved into pole position for promotion by winning a thrilling ten-try encounter in the Bristol sunshine. After going behind to an early converted touchdown, the Cherry & Whites soon saw centre Josh Matavesi clean through, only to be called back with the try-scoring pass adjudged forward. Urged on by their large travelling contingent of supporters, 'Town' duly equalised with a catch and drive dotted down by Ben Priddey, which full-back Kyle Moyle converted.

Still inside the opening quarter, the home side attacking with pace and purpose added 10 further points to move 15-7 up. On the half-hour, Clifton struck again with a try from a quickly taken penalty, which was well converted, but Camborne would not lie down and hit back before the break. Fielding a clearance kick on halfway, Sam Walker fed Alex Ducker, with the left winger setting off on a dazzling run ending with a touchdown behind the posts.

Fly-half Walker’s regulation conversion made it 22-14 at the break. Crucially, Clifton began the second half as they had the first, with an early try increasing their advantage, but Camborne again responded promptly with hooker Priddey driven over for his 39th try of the campaign. A converted score for the resolute home side then took the score to 34-19, whilst the visitors were making handling errors in their efforts to get back into contention.

Going into the closing stages, 'Town' got a lifeline as Ducker brilliantly intercepted inside his own half before racing clear to dot down his 29th try of the season. Walker’s conversion reduced the deficit to 8 points. Any hopes of a late comeback were extinguished five minutes from the end as the Camborne cover, deceived by the bounce of the ball from a long kick ahead, allowed a delighted Clifton a sixth converted score to seal a deserved victory.
