More info Candidates for the role of new MasterChef host are being lined up as bosses consider options after Gregg Wallace stepped back from his role following allegations of inappropriate behaviour on set by 13 women .

Although he denies any wrongdoing and has pledged to co-operate with the investigation, he won't be returning to present alongside John Torode . With two Christmas specials already pulled by the BBC, insiders are buzzing about who might fill Gregg's shoes. Names like James Martin and Nigella Lawson have been floated, but whispers suggest a podcast host might be the frontrunner.

The Daily Mail hints at a "complete reboot" for the show, with a source revealing: "It's too early to say anything definitive yet - except that Gregg won't be coming back." They added, " Angela Hartnett is the ideal person they would love to get on the show, but it's not clear if she might agree, and if she would want to devote the time to it. They want to have one presenter who is a proper, authentic professional chef.

The other person, the 'Gregg' if you like, could be Andi Oliver or Grace Dent . They really like Grace Dent." Buzz is growing among MasterChef fans as they suggest their ideal replacements for judge Gregg Wallace.

One social media user wrote, "If MasterChef continues I hope Angela Hartnett gets Greg Wallace's job and the BBC don't play the woke card!" Another chimed in with, "#Masterchef needed a reboot long before gregggate. Get rid of wareing, galeti, and #greggWallace. Andi Oliver and Angela Hartnett would both be excellent to front the program," reports the Mirror .

Another fan stated: "Got to be a good female chef like Angela Hartnett. She's had previous TV experience ('Best Home Cook' etc.), and she'd be great.

" Angela, currently wowing audiences with her culinary flair on the Dish podcast alongside ex-Radio 1 sensation Nick Grimshaw, hasn’t voiced whether she's eyeing Gregg's spot. However, an unexpected contender has thrown his hat into the ring – none other than hip-hop heavyweight Snoop Dogg . The 'Gin and Juice' rapper revealed: "You better believe Snoop could be the new MasterChef judge," and he added, "My boy Gordon [Ramsay] judges on the US version of the show, and I know he would back me to be able to judge on the UK version.

" "He knows I am not playing when it comes to food. He knows I can cook – I have even given him some tips. I hosted a cooking show over here (Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party) and I have always been vocal about wanting to work on a UK show.

I love the place – and for real, this could be the perfect opportunity.".
