QUEENSBURY—Mary Jane (Connors) Gilet, 90, of Queensbury, N.Y., passed away on October 13, 2024, surrounded by her four daughters.
She is survived by daughters: Marysue Dougherty (Matthew), Julia Ramonat (Whitfield), Lucy McBride (Bob), and Charlotte Gilet. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert James Gilet, Jr.; and her son, Albert James Gilet III, (Jimmy, 1964); and her sister, Julia F.
Connors. She was “Gma” to her nine grandchildren: Emily McBride, Mary Beth Dougherty, Abigail McBride, Hallie McBride, Lucy Ramonat, James Dougherty, Jack Ramonat, Amylou McBride and Margaret Ramonat. Mary Jane was born in Lowell, Mass.
, on November 22, 1933, to David F. Connors and Mary (Barrett) Connors. Mary Jane attended The Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough, Mass.
, and Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass. Being a military wife and wife of a business executive, Mary Jane found herself moving to 14 different states and embracing each culture. In each of those moves, she met her best and dearest friends who remain in touch today.
While in Mississippi and Texas, she taught elementary school, captivating her students with her Boston accent and instilling her love for learning. Mary Jane was involved in every new community and passionately volunteered wherever her children were involved. She was PTA President, Girl scout leader, CCD teacher, Meals on Wheels volunteer and H&R Block consultant for seniors.
She was a Docent at the Worcester Art Museum and the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls. In between volunteering, she enjoyed platform tennis, golf, bridge, book club and her investment club. She’ll be remembered for her love of entertaining, her genuine kindness, her infectious laugh, and above all, her love of family.

m. at First Presbyterian Church, 400 Glen Street, Glens Falls, N.Y.
