Mary Black: ‘I told the label I’m not going back out to America to record. It would have probably brought me to a huge audience’

Mary Black is “winding down”, or so she says. It certainly doesn’t feel that way, with a string of dates booked for next year across Ireland and the US. “No rest for the wicked,” she laughs.

“I like to go around Ireland once a year and it’s kind of like I’m going back to see all my friends. There are some very loyal fans out there that always come to see me.”.
