Mary Berry has shared a plethora of recipes throughout her career, but this simple recipe has raving reviews on BBC Good Food. The recipe notes said: “This is my standby pasta supper as it is so delicious, so quick and everyone loves it. “Great for every day or for casual supper parties too.

It’s a base is a crème fraîche pasta sauce and it’s topped with crispy Parma ham, which gives tons of flavour and great texture.” This recipe serves six people and is ready in just 15 minutes. It also just uses a few ingredients, and you may have them already in your cupboard.

Ingredients: 350g penne pasta Two 80g packs of Parma ham, snipped into small pieces 250g small brown chestnut mushrooms, halved or quartered 200g full-fat crème fraîche 100g parmesan, grated Two tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley Salt and pepper Method: Cook the pasta in a pan of boiling salted water according to the packet instructions before draining and setting aside. Next, heat a frying pan until hot, adding the Parma ham and frying it until it’s crispy. Transfer half the ham onto a plate and set aside before adding the mushrooms to the pan and frying it for two minutes.

Add the crème fraîche and bring it to the boil. Add the pasta, parmesan and parsley before tossing it over the heat, seasoning it with the salt and pepper. Serve with a green salad and crunchy bread for a tasty quick and easy dinner.

The recipe notes added: “If you want to use reduced fat crème fraîche, just stir it through at the end of cooking otherwise it will split. “For special occasions, add a pack of asparagus tips to the pasta four minutes before the end of cooking time, then drain with the pasta.”.
