GaadiWaadi -Five years after its original target, which was 2020, Maruti Suzuki is finally set to launch its first electric vehicleMaruti Suzuki is just weeks away from launching its first electric car – the e Vitara. The new EV will compete directly with the Hyundai Creta Electric, which is already on sale. Barring the cross-badged Invicto, sourced from Toyota, the e Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s most premium car when it arrives in showrooms.
It will be equipped with a host of attractive features, such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a fixed-glass sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Maruti Suzuki will give comfort a top priority in the e Vitara, equipping it with a 10-way power-adjustable and ventilated driver seat, a ventilated front passenger seat, and sliding and reclining rear seats. Additionally, the rear seats will have a 40:20:40 split configuration, allowing customers to fold down the middle section and create a pass-through to access the boot more conveniently or make more room to store long objects. The e Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height.
Even though it is 70 mm shorter than the Grand Vitara, it has a 100 mm longer wheelbase – 2,700 mm, leading to more interior space. Moreover, the turning radius is also 0.2 metres tighter – 5.
4 m, which makes the EV more easily manoeuvrable on narrow streets. In addition to impressive comfort and utility, Maruti Suzuki promises high levels of safety in the e Vitara. The company will offer it with disc brakes and parking sensors at both ends, a 360o camera system, and ADAS functions like Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Additionally, for the worst-case scenario, it will equip the EV with seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag.Maruti Suzuki will launch the e Vitara in two variants, one with a 49 kWh LFP battery pack and the other with a 61 kWh LFP battery pack. 8 kW (142 hp) and 192.5 Nm of torque in the base variant and 128 kW (172 hp) and 192.5 Nm of torque in the top variant.
It expects the latter with the bigger battery pack (and higher-output motor) to travel more than 500 km on a full charge. The post Maruti’s Next Big Launch e Vitara Just Weeks Away – 500 km Range, ADAS appeared first on Gaadiwaadi.com - Latest Car & Bike News by Amit Rawat.
