The model is preferred by a substantial chunk of first-time car buyers , competing with much-desired models such as the Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. Besides that, Honda, after a brief absence, has made a return to the top three preferred car brands, now standing alongside Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.

The re-entry is largely driven by the popularity of its models, particularly the Honda City and Amaze. Fuel preferences remain consistent, with 83 percent of buyers opting for petrol cars, followed by 12 percent for diesel, and 5 percent choosing CNG.

The used luxury car market is also seeing substantial growth, particularly in urban regions like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Models like the BMW X1 and Audi A4 are gaining popularity among younger buyers, reflecting India’s growing interest in premium vehicles. The Jeep Compass has also joined the list of top luxury picks.
