Martin Clunes has candidly spoken about his childhood experiences before the launch of his new travel show with fellow Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey. Having first teamed up for the popular BBC series which aired from 1994 to 1998, the pair are reuniting for Neil and Martin's Bon Voyage, taking them on a delightful journey through France. During this three-part escapade, viewers will be treated to scenes of the dynamic duo paddling along the Dordogne River, biking amidst Bordeaux’s lush vineyards, and delving into underground caverns.

Both actors disclose tales of their starkly contrasting upbringings during the programme. Martin charges ahead with stories of his boarding school days, while Neil reflects on growing up within the care system. In conversation with Radio Times, Martin offers a glimpse into his past.

He admitted:"Nowadays, people stop and look back and name something that happened to them, and it becomes an almighty obstacle in their path, whereas I just remember getting on with everything. "My childhood wasn't idyllic, but I didn't have anything to compare it to." Oppositely, Neil mused: "The experiences you have when you're young are always going to fold over into your life later on.

" Last month on BBC 's The One Show saw Martin and Neil sharing fond memories as they expressed their delight at teaming up once more, reports Gloucestershire Live . The synopsis of the show teases: "Having famously starred together as flatmates Tony and Gary in Men Behaving Badly, in this new series, Neil Morrissey will take Martin Clunes on a road trip through France, the country that has become his second home. "From Normandy, through the Alps and to Neil's home and cider apple orchard in the South, and taking in beautiful food, sweeping landscapes and fascinating local traditions, the two friends will reconnect and reminisce on a professional and personal relationship that spans 30 years.

" Ahead of their travelogue series debut, Neil called the reunion a 'golden opportunity' to present all the wonders of France to his friend Martin. Expressing his affection for the country, Neil remarked: "I've fallen in love with this country, its glorious food, its delicious wine, and knowing Martin has an EU passport, I'm fairly certain he'll be relocating here once I've finished with him." Martin also spilled his excitement for the French expedition, candidly telling how eager he was to dive into everything Neil had in store for him.

Eager to begin the adventure, Martin added: "I'm really looking forward to all the sights, sounds, tastes, people and experiences Neil's lined up for me in France. Most of all I'm looking forward to spending a great deal of time with my old mate Neil." "I've grown to miss more than ever since he's absconded to a country which he claims has the best scenery, food and wine on earth – is he right? I intend to find out by devouring the lot of it and seeing what I can remember afterwards.

" Neil And Martin's Bon Voyage is available to watch on U&Gold. You can watch the series on catch-up via the U app on Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Go..
