The heroic event marked the second time in recent weeks he's been caught up in a frightening crash scene. The reality TV star was parked on the side of the road when chaos erupted just metres from his window.

'I actually pulled over to upload a reel,' Ash, 35, told Daily Mail Australia. 'Literally could have landed on top of me. I pulled over to make a phone call and this car smashed into this lady driver in front of me and totally flipped upside [down] right next to my window.

' Without hesitation, the 2024 MAFS groom jumped into action. Married At First Sight groom Ash Galati has become an unlikely local hero after bravely pulling a driver from an overturned car in Melbourne on Monday The reality TV star was parked on the side of the road when chaos erupted just metres from his window 'So I jumped out instantly, ran to the flipped car to check if the person was alive — and he was, so I pulled him out,' he recalled. Shocking images from the scene show the vehicle lying on its roof in the middle of a busy road, with its undercarriage exposed and fluid leaking onto the pavement.

Incredibly, Ash says it's not the first time he's witnessed a similar incident. 'The same thing happened two weeks ago with [a] different driver,' he revealed. 'Bro, it's actually hectic, 'cause if he landed on me I was prob[ably] dead.

' His selfless act is drawing comparisons to fellow MAFS star Awhina Rutene, who helped an injured motorcyclist while filming the show back in October. It comes amid a wave of public heroism, with former Victorian MP Timothy Smith also making headlines this week after chasing down a teenager armed with a machete in Melbourne's Kew. Smith, who heard screams outside his campaign office on Friday afternoon, turned to see five teens running — two of them in balaclavas, one wielding a knife.

'A witness detained one of the boys until police arrived while the others fled the scene,' a Victoria Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia, adding the teenager had been arrested and will be interviewed.

As for Ash, fans have taken to social media to praise his courage and composure — with many calling him a 'real-life superhero.' 'Forget TV drama — this guy's the real deal,' one follower wrote.
