"Bring it on." It features a 70-minute set where Gervais calls for freedom of speech and the freedom to offend. The tour has taken in major theatre and arena venues across the UK, Europe and North America and is running to the end of 2025.
The award-winning comedian was born and raised in Reading. He is well known for filming The Office in Slough but he has also filmed in Bucks for scenes in his Netflix series After Life. Beaconsfield's Old Town Registration Office was used for the Autumnal Leaves Care Home, and the theatre group rehearsal space scenes in season two were filmed in Beaconsfield Masonic Centre.
The award-winning comic has a house in Marlow and recently had plans to build a four-bedroom £5 million neo-classical home to replace his three-bedroom one put on hold due to flooding risk. He originally bought the house for £2.75 million in 2014, last September his first planning application was refused by Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council, he was working on a new application but, the Environment Agency raised new objections.
The existing home has been hit by flooding at least five times since 1947. Oliver Murray, the planning adviser for the Environment Agency, said there was not enough proof Gervais’s development will not increase flood risk elsewhere.' Gervais’ agent contested the claim.
He previously did warm-up shows in the Wycombe Swan ahead of this tour in July and August 2024.
