The Golden Knights captain was named the league’s First Star of the Week following three consecutive multi-point games. On Monday afternoon, Golden Knights captain Mark Stone was officially named the NHL’s First Star of the Week. Stone is coming off of an impressive week in which he recorded three consecutive games with multiple points.
On Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings , Stone had a goal and two assists. He followed that up with two more assists on Friday against the Ottawa Senators and a goal and two assists Saturday against the San Jose Sharks. Vegas won all three games, improving their record to 6-2-1 on the young season.
The Golden Knights have not yet lost a game at home, winning their first six games at T-Mobile Arena by a combined score of 34-16. Stone, 32, is in his seventh season with the Golden Knights. The right winger was traded to the team from Ottawa at the trade deadline in 2019.
In 2021, Vegas named Stone the team’s first captain in franchise history. In addition to Stone, Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros was the league’s Second Star of the Week, while Dallas Stars center Matt Duchene earned Third Star honors. Stone and the Golden Knights are back in action at home Monday night when they host the Calgary Flames.
