A day later, Soriano opened up about her ailment — spinal arthritis — which affects her neck and which had resulted in her inability to walk properly .

In a video posted on her YouTube channel, the “Lavender Fields” actress said her condition gives her constant pain from her neck down to her leg, all the way to her feet. “Ang sakit na ng likod ko, ang sakit na ng tiil ko, lahat, ‘yung tuhod..

. ‘Yung spine ko, may arthritis hanggang leeg ko (My back hurts. My feet hurt.

Everything, including my knees. I’m currently battling a spinal arthritis which extends up to my neck),” she said. Spinal arthritis is the inflammation in the joints that make up the spine, most commonly in the neck and lower back, causing stiffness and decreased movement in the affected areas.

There is no set cure for arthritis as of this moment, but treatments can help in minimizing the disease from progressing. The screen veteran is undergoing treatments where steroids is injected into her spine. She also shared that she is dealing with a “pinched nerve,” which she said she inherited from her elders.

“Tapos noong first na-experience ko ‘to, ininjectionan na ako sa likod. Tapos ‘yung sumunod — noong hindi pa nawawala ‘yung pain — kasi sa side, ginawa nila, mismong sa spine nila ako sinaksakan ng steroids. Matagal bago mag-effect kaya iika-ika ako kung maglakad,” Soriano said.

“Tsaka ‘yung paa ko, ang liit ng paa ko, manhid. Parang may nakatusok. On top of it, may pinched nerve ako.

Hereditary ‘to eh. Sa kahit anong gawin ko, magiging gan’un eh,” she further explained. (The first time I experienced this, I was injected into my back.

When the pain didn’t subside, they injected something into my sides. Then, they injected steroids into my spine. The effects take time, so it will affect my mobility.

I also have small feet, and they’re numb. It’s like being hit with something sharp. On top of it, I have a pinched nerve.

It’s hereditary. I can’t do anything.) Touching on her medical treatments, the “Linlang” star admitted that she was advised to undergo surgery, which she is still taking time to consider.

She also shared that one of the ways to minimize the pain was to constantly walk in the swimming pool. “Itong sakit naman na ‘to, gumagaling ‘to. Sabi, magpa-opera ka na para matapos na yan.

Pupunta tayo diyan, pero tinitignan namin lahat ng way [para] hindi surgery ang mangyari. Sana, kasi ayoko. [Nakatikim] na ako ng cesarean.

An operation is not a joke. That way, gusto ko rin ma-introduce ako sa ibang anggulo para gumaling ako,” she said. (I can still recover from this sickness.

I was told to undergo an operation to end things. We’re getting there. But we’re still looking at other ways to not resort to surgery.

I hope, because I don’t want to do it. I experienced a cesarean. An operation is not a joke.

I want to be introduced to other ways to recover. Despite her condition, Soriano remains hopeful that her health will improve, although she advised her followers who are going through arthritis to “listen to [their] bodies.” Maricel Soriano with Cesar Montano, Epy Quizon, Iza Calzado, Vice Ganda and Dingdong Dantes.

Kaya siguro, naintindihan niyo. And para sa mga taong [nakakaranas] ng sakit na ‘to, when your body talks, you listen,” she said.

“Huwag niyong katakutan ‘to kasi sabihin niyo sa kanya, ‘hindi mo ko kaya.’ Kaya kita. Huwag kang matakot, nandyan si Lord.

At isipin mo, ang ibang tao, nakagawa ng himala. Ikaw pa kaya?” she continued. Subscribe to our daily newsletter By providing an email address.

You understand this. To those who are going through a similar condition, when your body talks, listen. Don’t be scared of it.

When you’re struggling to move forward, say, ‘I can handle it.’ Don’t be scared. The Lord is there.

Imagine, other people can do miracles. Why can’t you?)
