March Madness star breaks down in tears and consoled by teammates after error handed rivals Florida dramatic win

THE NCAA Championship Game ended in tears for a Houston star after their tough defeat.Florida ran out 65-63 winners over Houston to clinch the title in dramatic fashion Monday night.Emanuel Sharp broke down in tears after his late errorCBSAPWalter Clayton Jr knocked the ball away from Emanuel Sharp to force a turnover[/caption]And Houston star Emanuel Sharp was left almost inconsolable on the court.

Sharp, 21, had a chance to give his team the lead in the final five seconds at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.He decided not to take the 3-pointer and the team failed to get a shot off.On Houston’s penultimate possession, Sharp had a turnover when he lost a dribble.



And those late game errors proved costly for the Cougars.Florida came from 12 points down to stun Houston and be crowned NCAA champions.CBS cameras showed Sharp crouched down on the court with his head in hands.

He was consoled by his teammates and Gators star Walter Clayton Jr.Clayton played a big defensive role in stopping Sharp from getting a shot away.“Just go 100 percent,” Clayton said after the game.

“We were just trying to get a stop, and we happened to get it.“I’m happy we got it done.”Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson said, “Clayton made a great play.

“But that’s why you’ve got to shot fake and get into the paint. Two’s fine.”Clayton was one of three Gators players in double figures in the 65-63 win.
