“There was a thunderstorm that night, and the arrester at the Batu Kitang Water Treatment Plant was struck by lightning, causing the entire plant to be unable to function.“As a result, water pressure in Kuching city and up to Kota Samarahan was affected,” he told reporters when met during Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s Hari Raya Open House at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.Julaihi emphasised that the situation was beyond the control of the relevant authorities, attributing the issue to weather conditions.

However, he praised the quick response from Sarawak Energy and KWB, who managed to restore power to the plant within 45 minutes.“The Batu Kitang Water Treatment Plant is now operating as usual,” he added.Facebook Messenger Twitter WhatsAppEmailPrintThe post March 30 power disruption caused by thunderstorm affects water pressure in Kuching, Kota Samarahan, says minister appeared first on Borneo Post Online.
