There was no shortage of lottery winners in Ontario last month. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation data shows there were 88 winners of prizes of $50,000 or more through October, including 20 prizes of $1 million or more. Among those large-prize winners was a couple that took home half of the largest jackpot in Canadian lottery history.

The Owen Sound couple claimed their half of the $80-million Lotto Max jackpot in early October. Using OLG data, we’ve mapped where in the province the month’s winners of prizes of $50,000 or more are from. This map shows lottery prizes that were claimed in October, not when the draws took place.

Players have up to a year on many OLG games to claim their prize. To make it easier to use the map, it helps to zoom in on the location of interest, especially in communities with multiple winners, such as Hamilton, Mississauga, Brampton, Oshawa, Woodbridge, Innisfil and Windsor. Some big winners were also revealed in September across Ontario.

Check out the map of winners here. The Lotto 6/49 jackpot can grow to a maximum of $68 million, while the Lotto Max jackpot maxes out at $80 million. Both are national lottery games.
