Manitoba golf pro Aaron Cockerill netted a nice payday at the Irish Open on the weekend. The 32-year-old from Stony Mountain tied for ninth with a two-under-par finish that put some $165,000 Canadian dollars in his pocket. Cockerill drained an eagle putt on his final hole to card a final-round, even-par 71 in the European tour event.

It’s his fourth top-ten finish of the season and vaults him to the top-40 in the tour standings for the year, with combined earnings of more than CD$1 million..
