SINGAPORE – A slew of overseas musicians are slated to play in Singapore in December. Celebrate the end of 2024 at the three-day Yuewen Music Festival at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, from Dec 28 to 31. The line-up includes How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024) Thai star Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul, Mandopop singer Lala Hsu and Japanese diva Mika Nakashima.
Billkin will perform on Dec 28, the first day of the festival, alongside his I Told Sunset About You (2020) co-star, singer-actor PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn. Also appearing that day are Hsu, Taiwanese singer Maggie Chiang, deejay Tech1 and singer-songwriter Olivia Marsh, the older sister of K-pop girl group NewJeans’ Danielle. The second day on Dec 29 will feature Nakashima, a singer-actress known for playing the punk rocker Nana in the 2005 movie of the same name.
While she has had a career spanning more than 20 years, she has never held a concert in Singapore. Her hits include 2003’s Yuki No Hana (Snowflake) and 2013’s Boku Ga Shinou To Omotta No Wa (When I Wanted To Die). Chinese rapper Gali, Philippines-born J-pop star Reiko and Thai idols Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn and Nanon Korapat Kirdpan will also perform on the second day.
Dec 31’s line-up will see Chinese singer Akini Jing, as well as rappers such as Afrojack, Cuebrick and Wukong take the stage. More performers are set to be announced over the coming days. Tickets range from $228 for a one-day standard ticket to $1,014 for a three-day premium ticket.
Premium tickets include access to a dedicated standing area and a merchandise bag. The first two days of the festival are slated to be over seven hours long. The final day, which will include a fireworks and drone display for New Year’s Eve, will last close to 12 hours.

Marina Bay Sands’ live concert series Sands Live Season kicks off with Chinese singer Jane Zhang’s concert on Dec 21, with Hong Kong pop duo Twins on Dec 28 and 29, and Singaporean brothers Lee Shih Shiong and Lee Wei Shiong on Dec 31.
Zhang is known for songs such as Unrivalled, the theme song for the Chinese wuxia period series The Return Of The Condor Heroes (2006), and Painted Heart, theme song to the 2008 supernatural period movie Painted Skin. Twins, comprising Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, are known for numbers like Love Bigger Than The Sky (2001). Both Choi and Chung have enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years, as both appeared on the third season of the survival reality show Sisters Who Make Waves in 2022.
The Lee brothers’ upcoming concert is to celebrate their 40th anniversary in the industry. The seasoned musicians have written songs for top artistes such as Hong Kong singers Jacky Cheung and Sandy Lam. They also mentored and worked closely with home-grown superstar Stefanie Sun.
The Sands Live Season will continue into 2025, with Malaysian singer-songwriter Firdhaus, known for singing in Mandarin, performing on Jan 3 and 4. Chinese singer-songwriter Leah Dou, daughter of Mandopop diva Faye Wong and Chinese rocker Dou Wei, will perform on Jan 18. Cantopop legend Liza Wang will take the stage on March 22 and 23, while Golden Melody Award-winning Taiwanese singer A-Lin will perform two nights on March 28 and 29.
