Manaea opts out of Mets deal to become free agent for third straight offseason, AP source says

NEW YORK (AP) — Left-hander Sean Manaea declined his $13.5 million option for 2025 with the New York Mets on Saturday to become a free agent for the third consecutive offseason, a person familiar with his decision said Saturday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not made the announcement.
