Man with mental health issues detained over disruption at Kedah eatery

JITRA: A man with mental health issues was detained after he acted aggressively and attempted to force customers and staff at a restaurant here to eat food he had brought with him.Kubang Pasu police chief Superintendent Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim said the incident occurred about 10.34pm yesterday.

"One of the customers felt uncomfortable with the man's presence, prompting a staff member to approach him," he said. "This led to the man becoming aggressive. A customer then contacted the police and the suspect was subsequently arrested at the scene.



" Radzi added that Initial investigations confirmed that the man, 48, has mental health issues and will be referred to Alor Star Hospital's psychiatric unit.© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
