Chennai: Triplicane police arrested a hearing and speech-impaired person in connection with a break-in and burglary attempt at the Triplicane branch of State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday night. The suspect was picked up from the platform near Burma Bazaar where he was loitering, police said. His identity remains unknown as there were no ID cards on him, and those in the locality had never seen him before.
The break-in was noticed on Friday morning, when employees came for work. After ascertaining the safety of cash and other valuables, they alerted police. Police rushed to the scene and checked the lockers.
Triplicane police registered a case and are enquiring. They picked up the suspect with the help of CCTV camera footage.tnn.
