VALLEJO — The man who died in a single-vehicle accident on Fairgrounds Drive on Friday has been identified as Alejandro Valenzuela, 26, of Vallejo, the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner's Office reported. Vallejo police and fire were called to the scene at 3:34 a.m.
A vehicle had collided with a tree along the east side of Fairgrounds Drive. "The sole occupant of the vehicle was found unresponsive in the driver's seat. (Fire Department) paramedics attempted life-saving measures but were unable to locate any signs of life.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene," the police said in a statement. "(The) preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling on Fairgrounds Drive when it veered off course and collided with multiple fixed objects, including the tree. No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the collision," the statement said.
"Evidence located at the scene suggests alcohol may have been a contributing factor." Toxicology results are pending and will be confirmed following the autopsy. This incident marks Vallejo's fourth reported traffic-related fatality of 2025.
