A man has been taken to hospital following a fire at an apartment in . The emergency services were called to an apartment block on Claremont Street at around 3am on Friday, April 18, following reports of a fire at the premises. The police, fire and attended the scene with firefighters working to bring the blaze under control.

One man was taken to hospital following the fire with injuries that are not believed to be serious at this time. Police have said the fire is not being treated as suspicious. A spokesperson said: "Police attended the scene of a fire in a property in the Claremont Street area of Belfast on Friday, 18th April, alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Services and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
