Man suffers serious head and leg injuries in baseball bat assault

A man has suffered serious head and leg injuries following an assault in Leicester. Three men are being hunted by police in connection with the attack which was carried out with a baseball bat. The victim, a man in his 40s, was assaulted at around 6.

15pm last night (Tuesday, December 17) when he heard a disturbance in a neighbouring property in Clifton Road, in Leicester's Saffon Ward area. He went to have a look and was confronted by three men coming out of the house. The three men chased the victim into nearby Lansdowne Road where he was assaulted with a baseball bat.



The victim tried to flag down a passing motorist whose car was also attacked by the suspects. No-one was injured in the car. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The three suspects made off on foot. Police said the trio are described as being of Eastern European appearance, in their late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, with beards and short black hair.

They were wearing dark clothing. Lansdowne Road from Saffron Lane up to Lorrimer Road was closed for some time as officers carried out enquiries at the scene. Police have turned to the public for help, urging anyone who was driving in the area at the time and captured any footage on their dashcams to contact them as soon as possible.
