Man sought in relation to alleged assault of multicultural activist

Investigators are also keen to speak to any more witnesses to the incident.

Ms Rahman who is the deputy chair of the Canberra Multicultural Community Forum was allegedly attacked from behind by an identified male as she was walking with a friend along East Row in the city on Sunday evening. Ms Rahman, who wears a hijab, was allegedly struck on the head and body by the alleged attacker. The suspect then snatched the flagpole carrying the Lebanese and Palestinian flags she was carrying and threw it on the ground, along with her glasses and the ice cream she was holding.
