In today’s digital world, losing a phone is more than just an inconvenience – it’s a massive loss. Our smartphones hold everything, from bank details and digital wallets to important contacts, cherished pictures, and valuable data. A lost phone can mean losing access to money, personal memories, and even identity security.

So, when a Bengaluru man misplaced his phone in a cab, he thought it was gone forever. But what happened next restored his faith in humanity.Taking to Reddit’s r/Bengaluru subreddit, the man shared how he lost his phone near Hebbal a few days ago.

It was late at night, around 11 PM, and he was struggling to find a ride.Representational image“My phone’s battery was very low and eventually died while I was searching for rides,” he wrote. Left with no other option, he decided to walk to his destination, which was about two kilometers away.

During his walk, he spotted a cab parked on the road and asked the driver if he could drop him off. The driver agreed and, surprisingly, refused to accept any payment. However, once the man reached his destination, he realized his phone was missing.

“It had probably slipped out onto the seat. I panicked and searched my backpack, hoping I’d put it there but couldn’t find it. By then, the cab had already driven away.

Since I’d taken the cab offline, without an app, I didn’t even have the vehicle’s registration number.” Since the ride was taken offline, without an app, he had no way of tracing the vehicle. After reaching home, he tried everything to locate his phone.

“When I got home, I tried calling my phone, but it was useless since it was already powered off due to battery discharge. I also tried using the Samsung tracking service, but that’s ineffective when the phone is off. I even filed a lost item report, but I didn’t have much hope.

I waited for over 15 hours, hoping the driver would find my phone, charge it, and turn it on,” he explained.Representational imageThe next day, he received an email notification from Samsung that his device had been located. It turned out that the cab driver had found the phone, charged it, and turned it on.

Using Samsung’s lost mode feature, the man displayed his contact details on the phone’s screen. When he called, the driver answered and revealed that he had gone to Mysuru for a trip but would return the phone the next day.True to his word, the driver travelled back to Bengaluru, almost 150 km, by bus and returned the phone.

Overwhelmed by the cabbie’s honesty, the man gave him Rs 1000 as a reward.Representational imageHave a look at the full Reddit post here:Lost phone returned by Honest Cab Driver byu/coldabhishek inBengaluruIn a world where bad news often takes center stage, stories like these remind us that good people still exist! The post Man Loses Phone In Bengaluru Cab, Honest Driver Travels From Mysuru To Return It appeared first on Storypick..
