A MAN viciously attacked a woman in his car after the Isle of Wight Festival, a court was told when he appeared to be sentenced. Jordan Reeves, of Captain's Parade, East Cowes, admitted to causing criminal damage, and was found guilty of inflicting actual bodily harm on a woman, after a trial. The offences happened in Wootton on June 19, 2023.

Reeves appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Friday (April 11). The victim wanted to get out, but Reeves refused, said Liz Miller, prosecuting.

Reeves later stopped the car, punched her in the torso and "slammed her head" into the car door. He then dragged her out of the car, causing bruising to her arm, and left her at traffic lights in Wootton, the bench was told. In her victim statement, the victim said Reeves had been trying to manipulate and control her. For Reeves, Tom Cook said his client's "heightened emotional state" was provoked by the complainant, who he claimed had grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to mount the kerb. Reeves, with no previous convictions, was given 12 months' probation, ordered to complete 150 hours' unpaid work, and pay the victim £500 in compensation.
