ISLAMABAD - A man allegedly killed his sister in the capital’s Banigala area on Monday evening apparently over a family dispute. According to an FIR registered at the police station, the incident took place in Banigala area when one Ulfat Shehzad son of Muhammad Sarwar hailing from Phularwan, Tehsil Bhalwal district Sargodha, shot his sister Iqra Kousar dead. The deceased was present at the home of one Amir Saleem as house maid.
According to the FIR, Amir Saleem himself informed the police about the incident. According to initial reports, the deceased was a divorcee. She had married without the consent of her family sometime back and then got divorce with no child from the relationship.
“She again wanted to marry against the consent of her family which, according to initial investigation, led to the incident,” a police official privy to the matter told The Nation. The victim was called from the house of her master by her brother and was shot dead in the cattle yard, he added. The police have arrested accused and further investigation is underway.
