Man killed, son turns critical after wrong route driving leads to road mishap in Odisha’s Bhadrak district

In a tragic incident a man was killed while his son turned critical in a road mishap in Bhadrak district of Odisha yesterday night. The accident took place near the new Bus stand on the National Highway no. 16 in Bhadrak.

The deceased man has been identified as Dhaneshwar Behera and the critical son has been identified as Chandra Sekhar Behera. Both are from Ahias area of Jajpur district. As per reports, wrong route driving led to the accident.



The man and his son were on their way to Jajpur area from Charampa in Bhadrak on a motorcycle. Near the new bus stand on National Highway No. 16 they first hit a divider.

As a result, the father thrown off the vehicle onto the road when a truck coming from the opposite direction ran over him. As a result, Dhaneshwar died on the spot while the son fell down and sustained critical injury. However, the truck that caused the accident fled the scene.

Meanwhile, local youths rushed Chandrashekhar Behera to Bhadrak Hospital in an ambulance. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was then shifted to SCB hospital in Cuttack. After getting information Bhadrak Town Police reached the spot and recovered the dismembered body of the deceased and sent it to Bhadrak Hospital for autopsy.
