The jury charged Brandon Jermaine Francisco, 38, with carjacking resulting in a death or serious harm, using a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and flight to avoid prosecution, according to a Western District of Louisiana court announcement. The indictment alleges that on March 9, 2022, Francisco intended to cause death and harm to Goodie after he stole her 2012 Audi Q5.
Afterward, from March 9 to March 25, Francisco avoided prosecution, the jury alleges. If convicted, Francisco could face life in prison for the carjacking and death of Goodie and up to death for avoiding prosecution, according to the announcement. Goodie, 32, went missing on March 9 , 2022, after driving a rideshare client , possibly Francisco, from Louisiana to Texas.
Francisco was arrested in Missouri on March 25, 2022, by U.S. Marshals on a warrant in Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office for failure to appear in court in connection with a 2018 attempted murder.
The court date was scheduled for March 9, the date Goodie was last seen. Shortly after his arrest, authorities l ocated Goodie's Audi in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Louisiana State Police took over her case.
Her case transitioned from a missing person to a homicide on May 3, 2022. Goodie has yet to be found since her disappearance..
