Man in hospital with 'life-changing injuries' after crash with lorry and van

A man is in hospital with life-changing injuries following a crash that closed a busy Cardiff road for several hours. Police were called to a crash on the A48 Eastern Avenue in Cardiff at 5am this morning. The collision involved two cars, a van and a lorry.

One man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with injuries that have been described as life-changing. A statement from South Wales Police said that an arrest was also made in connection with the incident. A 30-year-old man from Fairwater has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injuries by driving without due car and attention.
