A man is in custody after police responded to a domestic disturbance and shot him twice following a confrontation in Anaheim on Monday night, Sept. 16. Two officers responded to a domestic disturbance around 8 p.
m. in the 700 block of West Santa Ana Street, where they had a confrontation with the suspect, 33-year-old James Brasher, according to Sgt. Matt Sutter, a spokesperson for the Anaheim Police Department .
The officers then opened fire on Brasher and struck him twice, Sutter said. Police provided aid to Brasher at the scene, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Investigators found that Brasher was on parole but had a warrant out for his arrest before the situation.
He was also listed as armed and dangerous, Sutter said. Police found a weapon at the scene. Brasher was released from the hospital several hours later, taken into custody and charged with felony aggravated assault, resisting an officer by force or violence, violation of a court order and violation of parole, Sutter said.
