
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) -- A man was indicted by a federal grand jury in Salt Lake City Thursday months after he was arrested in connection to a 2024 shooting at a Summit County party.Manuel A. Pimentel-Gonzalez, 24, was arrested in May 2024 after police linked him to a shooting that took place on a rural Summit County property, according to the U.

Gonzalez allegedly shouted profanities and left the camera's view. Sounds of gunfire can then be heard in the video footage.Investigators later found 42 shell casings and four firearms at the scene.
They said several vehicles had bullet damage, and when they later conducted a search warrant in Eagle Mountain, they found Gonzalez's vehicle with bullet damage as well.Gonzalez himself was found with a gunshot wound he was allegedly trying to treat himself. Authorities allegedly found his gun, which they say he legally shouldn't have had as he was on probation for a prior state conviction.
Gonzalez is now being federally charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. His initial appearance is not yet scheduled but will take place at the U.S.
District Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City.Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
