Man duped of 1cr, 7 booked

Ludhiana: Division number 5 police filed a case against seven persons for duping a city resident of Rs 1 crore on the pretext of investing in a scheme which offered huge profit. The accused have been identified as Munish Soni of Bhopal, Vijender Singh of Haryana, Rajnish, Minesh Raina, Raina, Sagar and an one unidentified aide. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Gurminder Singh of Phase 3, Dugri.

The victim said that the accused lured him with a lucrative investment scheme. They told him that if he invested Rs 1 crore in the market through them, they would give him Rs 1.60 crore in return.



He invested Rs 1 crore cash through the accused. When he realised that he had been duped, he approached the police. Assistant sub-inspector Om Parkash, who is investigating the case, said that an FIR has been lodged following a probe.

The accused have been booked under sections 318 (4) (cheating) and 60 (Criminal conspiracy) of BNS. They are yet to be arrested.
