A man is due in court in connection with the assault of two off-duty members of An Garda Siochana in Temple Bar at around 1.30am on Saturday. He is due to appear before the Dublin District Court this morning.
A second man who was arrested in connection with the incident continues to be held by gardai. A garda spokesperson said: "A man in his 30s arrested by Gardaí at Pearse Street investigating a serious assault on Dame Street, Dublin 2, on Saturday, 14th December 2024, has been charged. He is expected to appear before Dublin District Court, Court 3, Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Tuesday, 17th December 2024.
"A second man in his thirties, arrested in connection with the incident, continues to be held at Garda Station in the Dublin Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Investigations are ongoing." For all the latest news from Dublin and surrounding areas visit our homepage .
