(OPP file photo) ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE Article content A 27-year-old man was found dead after failing to surface while swimming in Lake Clear in Bonnechere Valley Township on Sunday morning. The man had been swimming and jumping off rocks into the water with several other people when he disappeared beneath the surface, the OPP said in a news release Monday. The OPP and Renfrew County paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after a 911 call was placed at about 9:30 a.

The man’s body was found by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit just before 7 p.m. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death, police said.
