Times News Network Ludhiana: A 25-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances after getting into a scuffle with a group of men near Aarti Chowk on Thursday. The man, who did not have any external injuries on his body, was rushed to hospital after he collapsed. He was declared dead in hospital.
Police suspect that he died of a brain haemorrhage. The body of the deceased, Raj Kumar of Chandar Nagar, was sent to the civil hospital for postmortem. Meanwhile, police lodged a case of culpable homicide against Gurlal Singh Guri, Kalu, and Luvkush.
Inspector Davinder Sharma, SHO, division number 8 police station, said that Raj Kumar was crossing Ferozepur Road on a bike with his two friends when the accused, who were also on a bike, collided with the victim's bike. This led to a spat, during which the accused thrashed him brutally and allegedly hit him with stones. Raj Kumar's friends rushed him to hospital, where he was declared dead.
The SHO said that as the victim had no visible injury marks on his body, police are waiting for the postmortem report for further action. It is suspected that the man died of a brain haemorrhage during the spat. MSID:: 119048285 413 |.
