A man has died after being rescued from a flat fire in Holborn.

A man has died after being rescued from a flat fire in Holborn. The fire broke out at three roomed flat in Elm Street just before 7.20am today (November 4).

A part of the flat on the first floor was damaged by the blaze. The fire, which is under investigation, was over for firefighters at around 8.20am.



Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Euston, Soho and Islington fire stations attended. A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly, a man has died following a flat fire on Elm Street in Holborn this morning. “Part of a three-roomed flat on the first floor was damaged by fire.

Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. “Control Officers took the first call at 0719 and mobilised three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Euston, Soho and Islington fire stations. “The incident was over for firefighters by 0822.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”.
