IPOH: A man is believed to have caused the death of his aunt, whose decomposing body was found inside a house here on Sunday (Nov 10) because she was overbearing. Acting Perak police chief Deputy Comm Zulkafli Sariaat said the woman's nephew, 21, is believed to have lost his patience with the victim and attacked her before keeping her body in a room of the house at Taman Puteri Lindungan Bintang in Pasir Puteh here. "They were staying together.
The suspect lost his patience, got angry and punched the woman repeatedly until she fell down a flight of stairs," he said in a press conference here on Monday. "Thinking she was just unconscious, the woman's body was then put inside a room," he said. "The suspect has already confessed to the offence," he added.
The victim, 54, was found dead by the police on Sunday (Nov 10) after receiving a call at about 8.30am. The body was already in a decomposing condition.
DCP Zulkafli said the victim's body is believed to have been decomposing in the room for four days. "The victim's brother had looked for her but was told by the suspect that she had locked herself inside the room. "The woman's brother had also smelled a foul odour before calling the police," he said, adding that a remand order for the suspect is being obtained at the court.
"The post-mortem is still ongoing to determine the cause of death," he added. Separately, on the incident where a tiger was run over by a lorry along the East-West Highway in Gerik, DCP Zulkafli said they will be assisting the Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) in the investigation. "We will assist Perhilitan in locating the lorry driver.
"We did not receive any report from the driver, only from Perhilitan," he said..
