A man has been charged with the attempted robbery of cash in transit following an incident at a post office in Leeds on Monday. Police were called to Elford Grove Post Office, in Harehills Road, on Monday morning, where a delivery driver had been attacked. Anthony Bryant, 54, was arrested at the scene and is also charged with possession of an axe in a public place and resisting a police constable at Leeds General Infirmary.
Mr Bryant, of Leopold Street, Chapeltown, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later..
