Police were called in the early hours of Saturday, April 26 to a report of a "domestic-related incident". Officers received a report that at around 2.30am, threats were allegedly made to a woman at an address in St Helens.
There was also a further report made of criminal damage being caused to a window and to garden furniture at another address in St Helens. He has also been charged with engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
The 36-year-old is due to make an appearance before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Monday, April 28..
