Man booked for uploading woman’s obscene pics online

Ludhiana: Police booked a man from Jalandhar, currently based in Italy, for voyeurism after he allegedly uploaded obscene pictures of a woman on social media. The complainant who belongs to a village in Mullanpur area, told the police that she got married in 2013. Later, she said that she got separated from her husband and started living in a rented house in Raikot.

During this time, she said that she became friends with the accused on Facebook. The woman said that the accused convinced her to divorce her husband and marry him, assuring her that he would help her immigrate to Italy. She said that when the accused came to India from Italy in 2019, he stayed with her for two months.



After this, she said that the accused came to meet her in 2021, 2022 and 2023. However, after they developed issues, the accused told her on the phone to return the money he had sent her from Italy, she said, adding that he threatened to send all the photos and videos of her to her family members. She claimed that she asked the accused to come and take the money but he uploaded her obscene photos and videos on Instagram and other social media platforms.

Moreover, she said that he also used her photo as status on his Whatsapp account.
