Surat: A 53-year-old man was caught with a lighter and a packet of cigarettes hidden in his socks during a security search at the airport. Harilal Panseriya was going to Delhi by a morning flight from Surat airport. At about 7am, when he went to the security hold area for frisking.
CISF sub-inspector Ravi Yadav checked his person and found a lighter and a cigarette packet hidden in his right sock. As Panseriya's conduct was suspicious, he was isolated and handed over to other security staff for a thorough check. His luggage was also checked by the CISF.
As taking a lighter and cigarettes on to a flight is illegal, Yadav informed Dumas police and handed Panseriya over to them. Dumas police booked Panseriya under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 125, for an act endangering human lives. According to the FIR, Panseriya is a social worker and lives at Shri Sevadham Ashram in Kathodara village near Kamrej in Surat district.
