Man arrested on commercial burglary, indecent exposure charges

A man was being held in the Greene County jail Friday after Paragould police said he was conducting lewd acts inside Walmart this week.

A man was being held in the Greene County jail Friday after Paragould police said he was conducting lewd acts inside Walmart this week. Jay Thomas, 35, of Paragould was arrested Sept. 19 on suspicion of commercial burglary and indecent exposure.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers went to the Walmart in the 2800 block of West Kingshighway after getting a call about the situation. An employee told police they saw Thomas committing the lewd act while Thomas was watching another shopper, according to the affidavit. Thomas was arrested and police said they later found out he had been banned from the store in November 2023.



According to jail records, no bond had been set for Thomas in the case as of Friday morning..
