A man and a woman have been arrested after a morning police raid earlier this week. The pair were arrested after officers raided a house on Brooklands Avenue, Atherton on the morning of Friday October 25. Police say this is part of a wider operation aimed at cracking down on drug crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “A female adult was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and is currently in custody in Wigan, awaiting an interview. “Additionally, a male adult located near the address was arrested after a stop and search under the Misuse of Drugs Act revealed he was in possession of cannabis. Police say this was part of a wider operation (Image: GMP) “He was also found to be wanted for other criminal matters.
“This operation is part of increased police activity in the area following reports of drug-related incidents and anti-social behaviour. “The team has been using both covert and overt tactics , resulting in the recent recovery of stolen vehicles, identification and seizure of uninsured vehicles, successful drug-related stop and searches, and the arrest of wanted individuals.
